Shaw Trust Horticulture Basingstoke supports disabled and disadvantaged people to live independently and find employment through our nursery and grounds maintenance service. Some of the people we work just with need the skills and experience they can gain from our grounds maintenace contract work to be ready to gain employment while for others who come to our nursery growing plants is the first step to living more independently. We enable all those we work with to grow alongside the plants they are nurturing.
There was a great feature in the Basingstoke Gazette recently which gives you more information about what we do. You can download a PDF of it below or you can view the article online here.
We need to raise £10,000 to pay for tools and developments to the site. There's lots of ways to get involved, in that from taking on a run, getting your company involved to simply making a donation.
We're always looking for people who can support us through volunteering, organisations who can provide us with support in kind and groups who can help us tell more people about our work. Whatever you can do will make a real difference to the lives of disabled and disadvantaged people in Basingstoke.
You can donate online by visiting www.justgiving.com/basingstoke, or contact us via email fundraising@shaw-trust.org.uk or call 01225 716300.
