Our work is about empowering people to improve their lives and to believe in their own abilities as passionately as we do.The Independent Living Service in Wales and what we can offer:
- Direct Payments Support Scheme
The Independent Living service provides information, support and guidance on all aspects of receiving and managing Direct Payments. - Payroll Service
A professional service which aims to take the stress off the clients in their role as an employer, whether it’s through a direct payment, ILF, or a self funder. - A Recruitment Service
We have a pool of 300 potential PA’s looking for work with our Direct Payments recipients, and have successfully supported many people back into work - A PA Matching service
A successful service which can match PA's to our client vacancies in terms of location, hours, and the role of the job etc. This has proved to reduce the recruitment period and increase a quality workforce. - Personal Assistant Training
We offer Training to personal assistants & employers (free) under the Direct Payments Scheme. - Direct Payment Training / Presentations
We can arrange to visit Social Work teams, universities, other organisations and community based groups. - Champion Service Users
We actively involve service users who have experience of receiving a direct payment to support us with delivering new services, meeting, presentations, home visits and talking to people who are interested in the service. - CRB Service
The ILS staff are all trained evidence checkers to deliver a CRB service for all our clients new staff. - ILF & Self Funders Support
We can offer a support, advice and guidance service to ILF and self funders similar to those who receive a direct payment. - A Managed Account Service
This Financial Management Support Service is money paid directly to Shaw Trust instead of the Employer. This service can be provided for those people who have been assessed as needing extra support with managing their money and paying their PA. This service is also delivered in England to support people with their Individualized budgets. - Support for setting up a Trust Fund
We have trained advisors and a detailed pack to support families and social workers in setting up a Trust fund. - A Quarterly Newsletter
Our newsletter goes out to over 600 Employers providing updated Employment law, new policies & changes and what’s going on in the area.
