About our people
We employ a wide range of people in many different areas. To give you a flavour you can read about our different word areas below.
These can be based anywhere in the country and all have the aim of getting people with disabilities or who are disadvantaged work ready and back in employment.
Work and Independence programmes
There are many other types of programmes delivered by our Work and Independence teams, from Young People's Services to direct payments, each creating unique job opportunities. In addition, our Health and Wellbeing Services offer exciting careers for clinically qualified individuals within the vocational rehabilitation field.
From retail managers to stock collectors there are a range of opportunities at our charity shops and social enterprises. Heather, General Assistant at Shaw Trust Palmer Gardens, says "I have learned loads about plants and retail and I am about to start my NVQ level 3. I've gained lots more confidence and have now been put onto a paid apprenticeship. I really enjoy working here."
Support Centre roles
Our support centres provide a valuable service handling initial enquiries from clients and giving ongoing telephone support to clients as they make the transition into employment. The encouragement, professionalism and dedication of our support centre staff play an important role in our clients journey and in the overall success of our contracts.
Head Office roles
Providing the resources, support and expertise to enable all employees to perform their role effectively so the organisation meets its objectives is the remit of our central services teams. Whilst some central services staff are field based, many are based at our Wiltshire head office.
Long-serving employee Julie who works on organisational projects comments "I enjoy working for Shaw Trust because it’s an organisation that believes that people can fulfil their potential with the right support and guidance. Everyone shares the same passion for making a difference to people’s lives and it’s great to work in a team which is committed to achieving success."
In all parts of Shaw Trust you will find staff work hard to meet challenging targets and are committed to making the Trust's vision a reality.
