Community Development Officer LINk

Location: Leeds

Shaw Trust supports a number of Local Involvement Networks (LINks) across the Country . The role of the Host is to promote and facilitate the involvement of local people in the commissioning, provision and scrutiny of health and social care services.

As a Community Development Officer, you will work within a team, with a specific responsibility for engaging with the many diverse communities within the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale. You will encourage participation through regular outreach and work with the media using strong interpersonal and presentation skills to raise the profile of LINk. You will have an awareness of barriers to inclusion, eg. disability and long-term ill-heath, cultural issues, rural transport, etc.

You will be extremely well organised with the ability to persuade and influence at all levels. Flexibility to undertake occasional evening/weekend work, frequent travel within the area plus occasion travel beyond, is required.

Fixed Term Contract until 31st Macrh 2011

Full Time 36.5 hours per week
