The official website of Cheshire East Council has been awarded Shaw Trust Web Accreditation, ensuring that everybody has access to the Council’s information. As part of the accreditation process the website was given a test run by disabled users and then adapted by the Web Accessibility team.Easy to use features such as subtitles were developed to help people with impaired hearing whilst special colour combinations have been used to aid those with colour blindness.
The Council’s Customer Services Manager, Paul Bayley said “We are delighted that our website is now fully user friendly so that everyone can access all the vital information about the area in which they live and the services that are available online.”
Shaw Trust said the site had achieved a ‘high level’ of accessibility and is now inclusive and user friendly.
