Shaw Trust Disabled Living Centre
Shaw Trust has a Disabled Living Centre in Wales at Llandarcy, Neath. It is a specialist centre providing free information and advice, with a display of products and equipment designed to make life easier for people with disabilities and to aid independent living at home.
The centre has examples of specialist equipment such as cooking aids, chairs, bath rails and mobility aids. In addition we have communication aids supported by Neath Port Talbot Sensory Support Team.
Anyone who needs support to remain independent can use the centre, this includes disabled people, their family and carers plus healthcare professionals.
At the centre Shaw Trust staff, supported by the Neath Port Talbot Disability Assessment Team, can provide practical solutions to difficulties experienced in daily living:
- opportunities to try out a wide range of products
- unbiased, expert advice and information about what is available and the costs
- residents of Neath Port Talbot are entitled to professional assessments by occupational therapists
- access to advice about Shaw Trust services (including employment support and training).
The Disabled Living Centre is open Monday to Thursday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm
