European Social Fund Projects

Shaw Trust operates a range of projects jointly funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and Jobcentre Plus. ESF was set up to improve employment opportunities in the European Union and help raise standards of living. It aims to help people fulfill their potential by giving them better skills and better job prospects

Our ESF projects are designed to offer people, disadvantaged in the labour market, a flexible package of support based on their needs to help them find employment.

What support is available?

Support varies within each project but can include:
  • access to work related training courses
  • an In Work Benefit Calculation to show you how much better off in work you could be
  • pre-employment and job search activities such as:
    • CV Writing
    • completing application forms
    • help with job search
    • support with interview techniques
  • access to motivational courses such as Gaining Opportunities and Living Skills (GOALS) training
  • In-work support to ensure your move into employment is successful.
