First Impressions

First Impressions is a new scheme being run by Shaw Trust across Hampshire to ensure unemployed people are ready to impress at job interviews.

Low confidence and self esteem is often the last barrier to returning to work. By offering people advice on interview technique, smart clothes and a new hair cut we’ll ensure that everyone we work with attends interviews ready to come off benefits, get the job they want and fulfil their potential.

The service will be open to everyone Shaw Trust are supporting through Pathways to Work, a back-to-work programme available to all customers claiming incapacity benefits and the Employment and Support Allowance. We aim to support hundreds of people over the next 6 months.

We’re looking for local clothes shops and hairdressers which are willing to donate their services, employers willing to have a clothing collection bin and people who are willing to donate good condition second hand smart clothes. You can also make a donation to help support the scheme which is run by national charity, Shaw Trust.
