Health and wellbeing
At Shaw Trust we are committed to maintaining the health and wellbeing of our staff because we value our employees and recognise that they are our biggest asset. Here are some of our initiatives:Discounted gym membership
Shaw Trust provides access to discounted membership at over 2,000 gyms and leisure clubs. You can access this benefit throughout the year.
BUPA Private Medical Insurance
We have an agreement with BUPA to provide employees with up to 20% off BUPACare, one of the most popular and extensive private medical insurance schemes. This benefit can be purchased through the Flexible Benefits Scheme.
BUPA Cash Plan
The BUPA Cash Plan is designed to offset costs of regular health care bills including routine dental treatment, new glasses, contact lenses, chiropody, physiotherapy and many other things. This benefit can be purchased through the Flexible Benefits Scheme and children can be covered for no extra cost.
Job Retention and Rehabilitation Service
This is provided by a team of independent experts to offer practical help, support and guidance to assist you in your return to work if you are absent due to a period of sickness. This service is free to all employees and provides additional support to that already offered by your line manager.
Rehabilitation Leave
Shaw Trust aims to ensure good practice in the workplace and create an environment in which employees will feel more willing to discuss the onset of disability. It is recognised that many disabling conditions do not make people less efficient, but may require them to work in a different way. Rehabilitation Leave is available to provide newly disabled employees, or disabled employees whose condition has deteriorated, or whose condition requires ongoing treatment, with a period of time off work (up to 6 weeks) to adjust to the change in personal and professional circumstances or to engage in ongoing treatment.
Employee Assistance Resource
This resource offers all Shaw Trust employees a freephone, confidential helpline which provides unlimited access to advice, information and face to face counselling support where appropriate. This service is designed to help deal with a range of problems, no matter how big or small, which may affect your personal life or performance at work.
RAC Membership
If you are required to use your vehicle for business purposes as part of your role then you are entitled to free RAC membership provided by the Trust. This membership ensures that you receive roadside assistance in the shortest time possible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
