Jigsaw
Supporting you to learn new skills, gain qualifications and become more independent
Jigsaw is a project that supports adults who have a physical and/or a sensory disability and who live in the Neath Port Talbot area.We offer advice, guidance and training that can help you to gain greater independence and improve your quality of life.
We can assist you with:
- Communication, life and social skills
- Removing barriers to leading a more independent life
- Money management skills
- Travel training - to help you move about easily and safely
- Advice about aids and equipment
- Individual support, should you need it, on topics such as debt, homelessness, drug and substance misuse
We offer support both in groups and on a one-to-one basis. An in-depth assessment of your needs is carried out first of all, to discover what you want to focus on.
Our group training sessions include:
- Basic computer skills such as using the internet and adaptive technology - e.g. screen readers, touch typing and Braille
- Life skills such as confidence building and healthy living
- Literacy and numeracy courses
The right skills
Our aim is to make sure you have the right skills to lead an active life, to feel part of your local community and to move into work. The service is free to anyone who is eligible and we can provide transport for you.
Referrals are usually through your care manager (from Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council), but if you do not have a care manager, please contact us to see how we can help.
