Work and Independence programmes
There are many other types of programmes delivered by our Work and Independence teams, from Young People’s Services to Direct Payments, each creating unique job opportunities. In addition, our Health and Wellbeing Services offer exciting careers for clinically qualified individuals within the vocational rehabilitation field.
Commercial roles
From retail managers to stock collectors there are a range of opportunities at our charity shops and social enterprises. Heather, General Assistant at Shaw Trust Palmer Gardens says “I have learned loads about plants and retail and I am about to start my NVQ level 3. I’ve gained lots more confidence and have now been put onto a paid apprenticeship. I really enjoy working here.”Support Centre roles
Our support centres provide a valuable service handling initial enquiries from clients and giving ongoing telephone support to clients as they make the transition into employment. The encouragement, professionalism and dedication of our support centre staff play an important role in our clients’ journey and in the overall success of our contracts.
Head Office roles
Providing the resources, support and expertise to enable all employees to perform their role effectively so the organisation meets its objectives is the remit of our central services teams. Whilst some central services staff are field based, many are based at our Wiltshire head office.Long-serving employee Rosie who works as a PA to one of the Directors comments "I know the Trust inside out and I love working here. It has grown dramatically since I joined 14 years ago but it has never lost that ethos of being a caring and supporting organisation. What I really like about it is the lack of hierarchy. We are one big team who all pull together to do such a worthwhile job. Shaw Trust never stands still it is an exciting, vibrant and forward-looking place to work.”
