What support could I receive?...
Careers advice
Choosing a job that suits you is very important. We can talk about your work options, your skills and the help that is available to tackle some of the practical obstacles that you may come across at work.
Training and personal development plans
By working closely with you, we will put together a Personal Action or Development Plan which may include some training to get you started such as confidence building sessions, vocational training courses, CV writing, back to work skills and job searches.
We will show you how to look for vacancies, apply for jobs and give you the confidence to perform well in an interview.
Work tasters and trials
To boost your confidence, we can arrange work tasters and placements. These will help you decide if the particular type of work suits you.
You will still claim your benefits and we will give you help with travelling expenses.
Support once you've started work
Once you've started your new job, your Adviser will continue to support you in work. They will answer your questions and provide any job coaching you feel is necessary. Financial advice and practical help will also be provided, allowing you to access funds available whilst you are in employment. These may include wage 'top ups' or equipment grants.
