Shaw Trust offers flexible training and we provide a variety of training options, from introductory IT courses to accredited training including National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs).
All training is delivered in an informal environment by friendly staff and at a pace to suit you.
Relaxed
We have a number of sites throughout the country offering training. If you choose one of our courses, you can learn in the way that you like best.
It's not like being at school or college because our training is done one-to-one or in small groups, in a relaxed and friendly way.
Our qualified staff help you to learn and information can be broken down into smaller parts so you have plenty of time and can work at your own pace.
New skills
There are lots of training courses on offer, such as:

- literacy (reading and writing)

- travel training (to help you use public transport).
We also offer trade and professional training, including:
- health and safety
- first aid
- driving a forklift truck
- manual handling

We can also help you get a job, including:
- finding out what you want to do
- looking for a job
- writing a CV
- filling in a job application form
- practising interview techniques.
Support
Our training is of a high quality and many of our courses are officially recognised so you get a certificate or qualification at the end of it. We support everyone, and in some places we offer equipment such as voice-activated computer programmes and screen readers.
