Summary
The Shaw Trust, the UK's leading voluntary sector provider of employment services for disabled and disadvantaged people, requires four Training and Placement Officers to work on a new project supporting offenders with learning disabilities return to work.
About the role:
You will work with individuals in receipt of Probation Service providing core skills training and vocational guidance. You will also support individuals with their job searching, helping with CV writing and interview skills coaching. You will also provide practical travel training to ensure clients are familiar and confident with planning their route to work.
You wil carry out regular reviews, measuring levels of achievement against the action plans put together by the Development Officer.
About you:
A qualified trainer, you will have ideally have a background in delivering in an employment/vocational environment. You will have the ability to build rapport with clients, both in an individual setting to deliver coaching as well as in a group, bearing in mind diversity and individual learning styles.
Your empathy and understanding of the client group will enable you to respond appropriately to a variety of challenging situations and enable clients to develop and flourish.
Location and travel
You will be covering the West Midlands area therefore you will be required to undertake frequent travel in the region and stay away from home occasionally.

This is a fixed term contract until March 2010 and is full time based on 36.5 hours per week
