Services for disabled and disadvantaged people

Shaw Trust's Work, Skills and Independence team works with a wide range of funding organisations to provide services for thousands of disabled and disadvantaged people every year.

Independence

Through partnerships we help disabled people live more independent lives by offering progression for people with learning and physical disabilities and mental health issues.

Support

With local authorities we can help modernise day care services and we support users of Direct Payments.

We deliver

Shaw Trust helps to increase the number of disabled and disadvantaged people who access services and improves the range of support options available.

Range of services 

We offer disabled and disadvantaged people a range of services from vocational and leisure activities through to open employment - accessing national Government employment programmes through our existing contracts.

Focus on progression

Our services provide stepping stones for people towards greater independence – from more economic independence  through to work, or in other areas such as moving from residential care to independent living.

Modernising local authority services

Providing training and employment services to thousands of disabled people every year, Shaw Trust's vocationally focused alternatives to day care offer successful, cost effective solutions for local authorities. 

Support for daily living

We assist disabled people to gain greater control of their lives, including support for Direct Payments.

Re-shaping services and consultancy

Shaw Trust can offer advice and support  on benchmarking, re-shaping/ modernising services and project management.
