LOCKED in cycle of despair, former drug user Tim Roberts daily contemplated suicide in his darkest days. Now he is a double Shaw Trust award winner, who says the biggest reward of all is getting his life back.

Salisbury man Tim, who has climbed his way back up from rock bottom and loves his job as a Community Key Worker for social care organisation Turning Point, which supports people with complex needs.

Tim was shocked to win at his local STAR Awards in Swindon and was even more stunned when he was announced as a winner at the National Awards in London.

"I didn't think for a minute that I'd win a national award. I couldn't believe it," said Tim. "I can't believe how far I've come, and it's down to Shaw Trust, who are brilliant. Without them, and in particular my Personal Advisor Cheryl Milner, I wouldn't have got that first job, and I wouldn't be where I am now," he added.
