It's that time of year again…following the success of our four previous STAR Award campaigns; we are again inviting you to recognise the contribution and achievements of all your clients, partners, employers and staff as we open this years STAR Award nominations.
This year there will be no Regional STAR Award ceremonies however each region will be recognised and encouraged to be represented at the National event. The National STAR Awards will be held in London towards the end of November 2008.
As Shaw Trust continues to grow and becomes increasingly diverse, it is sometimes difficult to see commonalities in our everyday tasks, however, our STAR Awards continue to encapsulate ways of engaging with each of our stakeholder groups, providing us with an opportunity to come together, sharing the best of our work with each other as well as showcasing our services to the outside world.
Our STAR Awards do this by:
- Creating awareness of Shaw Trust's services amongst a wide group of stakeholders throughout the country
- Encouraging people to actively engage with Shaw Trust – either by being nominated, invited as guests, or by making a nomination themselves. This all helps to strengthen local ties with employers, partners and other key stakeholders in each area
- Providing media opportunities for Shaw Trust in local and regional areas, followed by further opportunities when the shortlist is announced for the National Awards
- Celebrating and rewarding our employees, volunteers and service users

Timetable & Procedure
The nomination process is now open. Nominations can be made by post or online. The closing date for all nominations is 2pm, Friday 29th August 2008. A copy of the nomination form can be found at the bottom of this page.
Further updates about our STAR Awards, including a tally of where nominations are coming from and lacking, together with a regular reminder on how and where to nominate, will be shared in Shaw Thing.
