David Lidington MP joined staff and volunteers at Shaw Trust Princes Risborough to celebrate 10 years of charity shopping in the High Street on 25th June 2004. Mr Lidington was joined by local volunteer Sue Allam who is Shaw Trust's longest serving volunteer and also helped to set up the shop 10 years ago this month.
David Lidington MP said "The strength of the voluntary sector is one of the treasures of Buckinghamshire and of Britain. I am delighted to salute the work of Shaw Trust and the dedication of Sue Allam and the other volunteers in Risborough."
Tessa Lancaster, regional manager for Shaw Trust Retail added, "Princes Risborough is very special to Shaw Trust; it is the home of our very first charity shop and over the last 10 years we have had a fantastic team of staff and volunteers, without whose support none of our work with disabled people across the county would be possible. We're always delighted to hear from people who want to know more about our work and they'd be more than welcome to join our team."
Shaw Trust has a network of 26 charity shops across the South, Midlands and Wales and a further 251 vocational projects throughout the country. In the county of Buckinghamshire there are 5 retail shops (Beaconsfield, Chalfont St. Peter, Chesham, Marlow and Princes Risborough) and we are working with over 300 disabled people giving employment advice and support.
