STAR Awards 2007

04 April 2007

Following the great success of our national STAR Awards in 2005 and 2006, this year, as part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, we are increasing our capacity to provide recognition of the contributions and achievements of many more people by extending our campaign to regional levels.

Since being launched in 2004, Shaw Trust's STAR Awards have provided us with a means of acknowledging the individual achievements of many disabled and disadvantaged people who access our projects and services; they also provide us with a way of recognising the contribution made by employees, employers and other organisations who work in partnership with Shaw Trust to assist people in their route to employment.

"I really enjoyed the STAR Awards , I'd found it quite difficult to really get my head around what Shaw Trust did before and the STAR Awards really bought that to life. I felt really moved by some of the stories." Tony Golding, BT

"The Shaw Trust STAR Awards were great – they really brought home to me all that Shaw Trust are about, the reality of what you do and the difference it makes." Nicole Humphries, BUPA

"I loved the STAR Awards it was so nice to be there and learn more about other areas of the Trust and the good work we do with clients. I would definitely recommend to all staff that they should go if they get the opportunity."
Lynda Howe , Shaw Trust Retail

"I had such a lovely day at the STAR Awards . I was made to feel so important and special, like a real star!"
Richard Denyer, STAR Awards winner
