Can you help me find home-based work?

Home-based work is eligible for the Workstep programme, but it can be very difficult to find home-based employment. Shaw Trust has no special source of information on home-based vacancies. When looking for home-based work, be wary of scams - avoid any offer of work which asks you to pay something in advance. You may find the following websites and organisations useful: Homeworking.com and Telework Association

Where does Shaw Trust's funding come from?

Shaw Trust is the largest UK provider of work-related services, many of which we run under contract with Jobcentre Plus, so about 60% of our income comes from this. However, we also get funding from a wide variety of other sources, including local authorities, Learning and Skills Councils, charitable trusts, the European Union, the Community Fund, corporate and individual donors and our shops.

Can Shaw Trust provide a grant or funding for my organisation with a particular need?

Shaw Trust is not a grant-making trust so is unable to help you in this respect. To find organisations which do give grants to organisations in need, contact your local Council for Voluntary Service. To find where your local CVS is, contact the National Association of Councils of Voluntary Service, or go to their website. Local CVSs exist to provide advice and support to local voluntary and community organisations, and can advise on funding.
