Support us

Shaw Trust supports thousands of disabled and disadvantaged people every single year. These include people with a disability or mental health condition, people who are bringing up children on their own, or are overcoming drug and alcohol misuse, people leaving prison or care, people from ethnic minority backgrounds, people who live down your street and in your neighbourhood.

These people can often face difficulty fulfilling their potential because they aren’t given a chance to prove their abilities and enjoy the broader benefits of having a job. Work isn’t just about earning a living, it also brings a sense of belonging and purpose, confidence and self esteem. Having a job brings structure to people’s days, is a source of social contact and friendship and can give fulfilment and satisfaction. Having a job means a chance to turn your life around.

Our vision is of a society where every disabled and disadvantaged person has the opportunity to work. There is a long way to go to realising this vision but with your help we can get a little bit closer every day.

There are many ways that individuals, companies, trusts and community organisations can help us and we hope you will find something to interest and inspire you in these pages:
