Shaw Trust’s Young People’s Services achieving positive outcomes

Shaw Trust’s Young People’s Services are UK wide, we worked with over 600 disabled, disaffected or disadvantaged young people in the last year alone.

Shaw Trust’s Young People’s Services achieved positive outcomes of up to 85% last year. We have a proven rate of success, with 20% of young people moving directly into or actively seeking employment, 50% into further education and 25% going into vocational training.
  • 100% of the young people on our programmes benefited from increased confidence and skills development.
  • 100% accessed work experience and/or training
Shaw Trust provides structured flexible learning and training to enable young people to identify their vocational aspirations and find fulfilment in a work based setting. Our ethos is - ‘whatever it takes.’

Some of the transformations we have seen on our projects include:
  • Pupils who are violent and abusive when in class, transformed to dedicated apprentices in a useful trade.
  • Young people who seemed destined to end up on the ‘scrapheap’ finding new hope and confidence in training and continued education
  • Success at work for pupils who simply needed some
