Safe Warm and Secure Project
Safe Warm and Secure is an exciting new pilot service that Shaw Trust is running in partnership with Hampshire County Council.
The service will provide focused time limited interventions for vulnerable older homeowners to repair, improve, maintain or adapt the physical condition of their living environment to ensure it is safe, warm and secure.
Consultation with older people has shown they are often willing to have the improvements made to their homes but do not feel able to organise the logistics for it to happen.
Therefore Safe, Warm and Secure Support officers will be able to support older people practically and emotionally until the completion of the work.

Salary - £23665.14 - £26767.90
Contract type Fixed Term – 31/03/2011
Location – St James Hospital – Portsmouth with flexible working
20 hours per week
You will demonstrate a proven record of managing, supporting and motivating small community based teams and have the confidence to quickly establish your new role.
With excellent communication and networking skills you will be able to speedily ensure links are made with the relevant community and voluntary organisations required to provide the services for the older person.
You will be able to show high level of sensitivity and experience with supporting vulnerable older people in a community setting ,always ensuring the rights of the older person are paramount.
To have a proven ability to promote independent living for older people and the skills to encourage and support them to make choices which will enable them to continue to remain independent for longer
