Shaw Trust in frame for Basingstoke photo show

5 December 2011

A gardening project run by a national charity that helps people with mental health problems and learning difficulties to develop new skills is hosting a photo exhibition to showcase its work.

Shaw Trust, a national charity that supports disabled and disadvantages people into work, is hosting the event at the Willis Museum in Basingstoke from the 10th – 24th December.

Nigel Sully, Project Manager of the horticulture project, said: “This exhibition highlights not only the work we do in providing fabulous flora and fauna for homes and businesses, but also the skills of our clients. What began as a way of building confidence and new skills for our clients has turned into an opportunity for us to use those photos on cards that we sell. It’s an important stage in our clients’ journeys into mainstream employment, further supported employment or voluntary work and ultimately towards them fulfilling their goals and becoming more independent.”
