Stuart gains computer skills and much more

Stuart joined Shaw Trust in 2004. At the time he didn't have up- to-date computer skills and wanted to gain confidence so he could return to work. With advice and guidance from our staff, Stuart enrolled on information technology and job seeking skills training through our partnership with Canterbury College.

Following these courses, Stuart went on to train in retail skills and in Learn Direct's basic skills. With his increased self esteem, Stuart became a voluntary driver for Shaw Trust and worked for Tunbridge Wells Mental Health Resource Centre.

Stuart continued his retail skills training and has started working in Somerfield supermarket through our Workstep programme. While working there his plans include gaining a customer services qualification and becoming a qualified forklift truck driver.
