Targeted Interventions
Shaw Trust delivers three programmes each helping different groups of people.These programmes offer one-to-one support of an Adviser to help increase confidence, assess skills and develop a back-to-work plan. Advisers give support to overcome or manage any barriers to entering employment and to achieve employment goals.
What support is available?
Support is flexible depending on which programme you are eligible for, and may include:- Better off In Work Calculations to show how financially, you could benefit from being in work
- work placements within specific industry sectors that offer flexible, family friendly hours
- short work focused courses such as Introduction to IT and First Aid
- support with pre-employment and job search activities such as:
- help to fill out application forms
- effective interview techniques
- arranging work tasters/voluntary work
- writing an up-to-date CV.
- advice on In-work benefits that may be available once you start work
- access to confidence and motivational courses such as GOALS training
- access job specific training courses
- continued In-work support.
Who is eligible?
If you fall into any of the below categories you may be able to participate in the programme:- people who have children, are out of work and have partners who are unemployed and claim benefits
- lone parents and people claiming Incapacity benefit
- people who have been claiming JSA for 26 weeks or less.
