The Work and Health Programme
The Work and Health Programme helps you to find and keep a job if you’re out of work. The Programme, which is tailored to your needs, is designed to help you if you’ve been out of work and claiming unemployment benefits.
The Programme will help you improve your employment outcomes by enabling you to develop the skills you need to get into work. It will also support you if you have a health condition or disability.
Shaw Trust is commissioned by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to provide the Work and Health Programme in Central England and the Home Counties.
An individualised approach
The Work and health programme is different from other employment programmes because it recognises that everyone:
Is different.
Has their own set of challenges.
Has their own individual reasons for being out of work.
Will have a different path to finding a job.
It is not a “one-size” fits all approach. That is why it works.
Our tailored approach focuses on seven key areas:
- Friends, family and personal responsibilities.
- Physical health, mental health and mood management.
- Lifestyle.
- Skills and experience.
- Housing and money.
- Finding and preparing for work.
- Volunteering.
You need help keeping your current job
