Work Preparation
Work Preparation is a government programme designed to give people a 'jump start' into work. It is a flexible programme and depends upon each person's specific needs. It usually lasts between 6 and 13 weeks. People taking part can stay on existing benefits whilst on the programme and usually any expenses incurred (such as travel costs) will be repaid. Work Preparation enables people to find out and try the kind of work suited to them. It helps to build confidence by enabling people to work in a real environment before they progress into full employment. What support is available?
