Workplace Mentor - Patrick Dowling

The work carried out by UCATT convener Pat Dowling may well encourage many more employers in the construction industry across London to open its doors to workers with disabilities. Pat has been doggedly determined in his efforts to find work for clients on construction sites and has pledged to spread the word through his union and employer SKANSKA, to break down the barriers to employment that have kept those who have been on Incapacity Benefit off construction sites.

Pat who picked up the National Workplace Mentor STAR Award said, "I am proud and honoured to receive the award and this is just the beginning. Many people in the construction industry have now sat up and realised just what we've achieved and this win will focus attention on the importance of this role in construction."
