Shaw Trust's Executive Management Team (EMT)
The Executive Management Team (EMT) is responsible for the day to day running of Shaw Trust.
Chief Finance Officer, David Phipps, is responsible for the financial sustainability of Shaw Trust and manages the Finance, Procurement and Corporate Services teams.
Chief Executive Officer, Roy O'Shaughnessy, joined Shaw Trust in 2012, after a merger with London based charity Careers Development Group – of which he was also Chief Executive. Since then, Roy has been dedicated to ensuring Shaw Trust achieves its ambition of transforming the lives of over 1 million young people and adults a year from 2022 by increasing the scale and impact of Shaw Trust’s work. Recently, this has led to Ixion and Prospects joining the Shaw Trust Group.
Roy is passionate about the charity sector, having worked in charities and voluntary sector organisations for all of his forty year career. Prior to Shaw Trust, Roy was the Development Director at the St Christopher’s Fellowship, and was the Chief Executive of the Episcopal Charities for the Episcopal Diocese of California. Roy’s ability to drive transformational change in organisations is highly sought after, resulting in him sitting on many boards. This includes working at an international level as the Vice-President of Rehabilitation International’s Europe branch, acting as the Chair of Yateley Industries, and supporting his local community as a school governor and Parish Councillor. Roy’s objective is to have a charitable heart and a commercial brain and to blend both into his decision making process. He is committed to improving himself through active listening, transforming his community, and possibly, in a small way, changing the world.
Director of Charitable Operations & Enterprise Activities, Austin Hardie leads our charitable activities (projects, enterprises, retail, volunteers and fundraising), and he also leads all operational delivery.
Chief Commercial Officer, Richard Clifton is responsible for growth of new business within Shaw Trust Group.
Business Development Director, Gary Kernaghan is responsible for reviewing Shaw Trust and Ixion business development functions.
