The Shaw Trust Foundation is a focal point for the charitable purpose and activity in our organisation and a voice for long-term change we champion for the people we serve. And we want you to get involved.
Our charity makes a difference to tens of thousands of disadvantaged and disabled people’s lives a year. At Shaw Trust we believe everyone should have opportunity to progress. In education, in work, in ourselves. We work tirelessly to provide additional support to those who need a helping hand. But we can go further. The Foundation will help us further our impact by focussing our advocacy work and maximising opportunities to generate social value.
We want to tackle the fact that almost a third fewer disabled people are in employment compared to people without disabilities and improve accessibility to jobs. We must help people, young or old, to get the skills they need for the jobs of the future and to stay connected in an increasingly digital world. And we need to reduce the impact of disadvantage in younger life on young people’s health and employment opportunities. All this and more.
The Foundation is the recipient of the contribution that Shaw Trust generates through its contracted services and is actively seeking to generate fundraised income. It will help the charity further our impact by collaborating with partners to tackle societal issues, maximising opportunities to work with supporters to develop innovative solutions, and using our collective voice to influence the services of the future. All to support long term change for individuals and communities in the UK through financial assistance, support and awareness raising.
