Next stop India!
Following our first ever UK IT Challenge in May, we are absolutely delighted to announce who will be representing the UK at this year's Global IT Challenge. The event will be taking place between 8 and 12 November in New Delhi, India.
The Global IT Challenge (GITC) is a competition designed to reduce the 'digital disability divide' and provide increased access and investment in ICT, to help promote IT policy and training and create a truly inclusive world where no-one is left behind.
Our judges deliberated for hours and faced a difficult task in selecting the winners. They used a combination of results, observations and feedback – specifically attitude and team spirit – and scores from the challenges to select the final team.
So, in no particular order, the winners are:
- Jack Thomas
- Matthew Tonks
- Emily Rautenbach
- Jon- Paul Smith
We are very confident that this team will do us proud!
We will be keeping video diaries of their journey and setting up a private Facebook group so you can follow them, wish them luck and ask questions about their experience.
Memories from the event
The first UK IT Challenge was incredibly successful and we received some wonderful feedback from contestants. As a reminder of what a fantastic experience it was, you can watch the UKITC video on the Shaw Trust website.
