After successfully working together to operate the STAR Skills Ltd joint venture, Shaw Trust and Ixion Holdings (Contracts) Ltd are pleased to announce a formal partnership.

Shaw Trust, a national charity providing employment opportunities, skills development training and health and well-being services across the UK, and Ixion, a not-for-profit organisation working in the employment, justice, innovation, business start-up and skills sectors, formally came together from 2nd June 2017.

The new partnership will enable Shaw Trust and Ixion to transform the lives of more service users across the UK, supporting them to reach their full potential and to build successful careers.

Ixion will become part of the wider Shaw Trust group, with Ixion’s Chief Executive John Govett joining Shaw Trust’s Executive Management Team (EMT). In line with existing Shaw Trust EMT members, John will attend the Shaw Trust board meetings with the same rights as Shaw Trust paid Executive staff members and work on various group projects for Roy O'Shaughnessy (Shaw Trust Group CEO).

Shaw Trust and Ixion’s management board (that will remain unchanged) will now be working collaboratively to ensure that both organisations seamlessly grow together.

This does not affect any of Ixion’s current Partners or Sub-contractors, as all Ixion related contracts remain as before, with Ixion.

Commenting on the new partnership: Roy O’Shaughnessy, Group Chief Executive of Shaw Trust said: "I am delighted that Ixion have become a key part of Shaw Trust. Ixion brings to Shaw Trust many complementary services including; apprenticeships, skills, innovation and business start-up support. We are excited to be able to offer our service users a greater range of support to enable them to achieve their full potential."

John Govett, Ixion’s Chief Executive said: “I would firstly like to thank Anglia Ruskin University for all its support over the years, but given Ixion’s recent growth, we are delighted to now be part of Shaw Trust and part of a group that can invest in the next phase of our growth strategy (particularly looking to win major e.g. OLASS – Justice and also Apprenticeship - Skills contracts etc.) and with whom we share the same values of Transforming People’s Lives”.
