Shaw Trust’s charity shops sell new and used goods that have been donated for resale. We have around 50 retail shops, spread across England and Wales. They stock clothes, accessories, homeware and gifts. Some stores also sell furniture and electrical goods.
We also run a range of horticulture enterprises and garden centres, many of which have shops where you can buy plants and other items. You can find details of these in the social enterprises section
of this site.
Our charity shops
Shaw Trust’s retail shops are an important part of our charitable fundraising activities. We use the funds raised to reinvest in the communities in which we operate, including supporting those we serve towards brighter futures.
Our shops are run by Shaw Trust staff and a large number of dedicated volunteers. In fact half of all the volunteers who support us do so in retail. Read more about our volunteer programme by visiting the volunteering section
of our website. Or, if you would like to apply to help out in one of our shops straight away, why not complete our volunteering application form (opens in new tab or window)
Our retail shops also provide invaluable work experience and skills training for many of our clients who are seeking to create brighter futures for themselves by moving into retail careers.
Donate to a Shaw Trust charity shop
We are always in need of high quality donations to our disability charity shops. We particularly welcome donations of:
- DVDs and Blu-rays
When you donate to a Shaw Trust fundraising shop, you can choose to apply Gift Aid to your donation. That means we can claim an extra 25% on the money we raise from your donation. As a thank you, we’ll give you a Shaw Trust loyalty card. This entitles you to 20% off the purchase of any donated goods every time you shop with us. You can ask in one of our charity shops for details.
You can visit one of our retail shops to donate your unwanted items or we can collect them from your place of work. Please contact on 01225 716345 if you would like to arrange a collection.
Local companies can support Shaw Trust’s charity fundraising by working with our shops in several ways. This could be through:
Please get in touch (opens in a new window)
- Bulk donations (from businesses in related trades)
- Organising staff collection days
- Setting up a staff clothing bank
for further details of how your business can support charity fundraising in the local community through Shaw Trust’s retail shops.
In addition to our charity shops around the UK, we also run Salvage, a high end retail shop in Neath, South Wales. Salvage stocks premium, pre-loved clothing brands, interesting homeware items and upcycled furniture.
To keep our stock fresh and exciting, we pay a per item cash amount for the right clothing labels – particularly for designer brands.
Just like our other charity shops, Salvage’s profits support people facing disadvantage.
You can visit Salvage at 49 Wind Street, Neath, SA11 3EN or call us on 01639 639652.
The eBay Project
The eBay Project is a social enterprise set up by Shaw Trust in 2012. It sells excess items from our shops through our eBay shop.
The eBay Project is run by a team which includes disabled and disadvantaged people. It allows them to gain new retail, customer service and IT skills and to build their confidence and employment prospects.
All money raised through the sale of goods in our eBay shop goes straight back into Shaw Trust projects and transforming the lives of individuals who come to us for help.
Visit our eBay shop (opens in new tab or window)
to check out our latest bargains.
To find out more about the eBay Project or to arrange a donation, you can email us on email@example.com (opens in new window)
