Individual Placement and Support (IPS)
Shaw Trust delivers Community Mental Health Employment Services in line with the Placement and Support (IPS) Model across North, East, South London and Birmingham and has recently been awarded Centre of Excellence status from the Centre for Mental Health.
The IPS Model is based on a ‘place then train’ approach and follows these 8 principles:
- Rapid job search
- Focus on competitive employment
- Integrated healthcare
- Access to Benefits Counselling
- Focus on individual preferences
- Employer engagement
- Zero exclusion
- Time unlimited in-work support

Aim4work is a specialist employability programme for people with common mental health conditions living in South London, North London and East London. The service includes development of job seeking skills and techniques, help with self-confidence, assistance with wellbeing and in-work support.

Fast Track to Employment
Our Employment Services in Hackney and Enfield are part of the Governments Five Year Forward View and Long Term NHS Plan to expand Individual Placement and Support (IPS) provision for people experiencing Severe Mental Illness who are supported by their local NHS Mental Health team.
A Specialist IPS Service for adults (18+) accessing the Hackney Community Mental Health Team. The Service will include Vocational Profiling, support with positive disclosure, practical job searching skills and techniques, specialist benefits advice and ongoing in-work support.
